Tell us about yourself: 

After leaving school I went on to work for a forklift company as a customer service administrator, within the same company I moved on to being a regional sales controller. 

In 2012 I got the opportunity to work for Thomas Interiors as an administrator, over the years I got to learn more about commercial refurbishment. Then in 2016 I moved to the maintenance team where I assist the team with reactive works, planned maintenance and quoted works, I enjoy being part of a team and the interaction with our clients. 

What made you want to get into administration?

I wanted to become the maintenance administrator as it is a busy team and but it can also be a challenging role, no day is ever the same which I love. I also enjoy meeting our clients and understanding their needs.

What does a typical day consist of?

My day consists of logging all maintenance breakdowns that come in and issuing them to our site operatives. I also plan the monthly planned maintenance works. I have daily contact with our clients regarding updates on reactive works that have taken place. To the side of working with maintenance team I assist with raising airside passes and general office admin tasks.

What advice would you give to someone else thinking of becoming an administrator?

The advice to anyone that wants to do similar role is go for it. You become part of a team and it makes you feel like you matter to the team and the department you are working within. No day is ever the same and you are always learning as there are so many different breakdowns that come in that need different attention and solutions.
