07 Feb Fit-Out Futures Awards
On Tuesday 4th February a delegation of the Thomas Interiors team were privileged to attend the FIS Presidents Lunch at Plaisters Hall, London. The event, which is held annually is an excellent opportunity for organisations within the Finishes and Interiors Sector to come together and recognise the winners and nominees of the Fit-Out Futures Awards.
The Fit-Out Futures Awards seek to recognise the outstanding contributions and achievements of individuals who have demonstrated excellence, dedication and commitment to their personal development, organisation and the finishes and interiors community.
Thomas Interiors were fortunate to have a number of our team members nominated for awards and were very happy when Site Supervisor, Tony Waistell was awarded the Outstanding Employee Award.
Andrew Allison, who nominated Tony stated;
“Tony is one of the rare breeds you still find in the construction industry, of a generation which we seem to lose more, year on year.
A carpenter by trade and steam engineer enthusiast, he has worked within our industry for many years and has been closely associated and employed by Thomas Interiors for over 17 years.
Tony shows great tenacity and ownership when given a project to manage. Taking on the role with great resolve to deliver the finished article to the highest levels of quality, he demands the very best of himself as well as his follow team members.
Tony enjoys imparting his knowledge of carpentry and rudimentary site skills, on our apprentices and teaches them practical skills more than any college course can ever offer. He exudes great patience, mentoring, and a great knowledge source when questions are asked. The welfare of his team is extremely important to him, he understands their capabilities and where best to utilize their skills to best effect the works.
Tony is a much deserved winner of this ‘Outstanding Employee Award’ we are delighted he won and his hard work has been recognised in such a way and I personally would like to Thank Tony For all of his hard work over the years”
We would like to congratulate all of the Nominees and Category Winners and would like to thank the FIS for organising such a well organised and worthwhile event.
