Three members from Thomas Interiors are soon to be taking part in the 2019 Windsor Half Marathon to help raise money for Daisy’s Dream.

Head of Small Works, Fire Stopping, and Maintenance, Nick Currie, Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Martin Aleksandrov and Site Supervisor Darren Tarling have all signed up to run the Windsor Half Marathon on Sunday 29thSeptember.

The race starts and finishes in the shadow of Windsor Castle within Windsor Great Park, which is the only Royal Park managed by The Crown Estate. The Great Park was once part of a vast Norman hunting forest which was enclosed in the late thirteenth century. The antiquity of the landscape is enhanced by the scattering of great ancient oaks for which the Great Park and its forest are renowned.

Nick Currie and Martin Aleksandrov, both successfully completed the Windsor Half Marathon back in 2015 together and completed the course in a very respectable 1 hour and 58 minutes.

Being a few years older now they are both just hoping to finish the course without having to be carried over the line.

Darren Tarling however is setting his target a bit higher and is hoping to not only beat his 1 hour and 48 minute record from last time he completed the course but is also hoping to beat his personal best for a half marathon of 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Daisy’s Dream is a professional support service which responds to the needs of children and families affected by life threatening illness or bereavement. They work predominantly in Berkshire and the surrounding areas.

Originally set up to meet the needs of children who had been bereaved, over recent years they have expanded their service to encompass families where there has been a serious illness diagnosis.
